Has it really been nine mouths?

Hello is anyone out there? It has been been gnawing at me for some time now to get back to my Blog and eventually put some kind of a comfortable pause or closer to it all. I have gone for about three Pet Scans since the last time I wrote, and I have one coming up on August 5th I have had to change doctors from the one thats In the blog photo, that's Dr.Fernandez. I owe that man my life, or maybe part of it, I sure hope he doesn't want to collect on it!

I have a new doctor her name is Dr. Stone she is very good as well. Let see since the last time I wrote I've went back to work, went to MA. for Christmas with the kids, got my state certification as a Florida police officer, bought a house in the same city and development that I was living in, and went back to MA. in June to see my niece get married and spend time with family and friends, boy what a great time but I bet my terrific brother In law "Bob" is still trying to recuperate from having so many Kourouvacilis's at the house!

The doctor says that if I have one more clear Pet Scan that she would make the appointment to have my Pec-Tube removed from my chest. :) When I first asked her if I could get it removed? She asked me why did I want it out so bad, was it because I wanted to forget all that I had been through? I thought to myself what kind of head shrinking comment was that? I thought to myself I will never forget what I've been through for the last year, or all the people that were there for me through some very difficult times.

All though I'm left with some minor side effects of the treatment I still remain optimistic that some of my senses of taste and the numbness in my feet will will completely go away, but all, and all, I remain eternally greatfull! Well I have to hit the sack, 4:00am comes early. I will be placing one last entry in the up coming week.

Love Pete.

Hey, how the heck are you all doing? I'am feeling a lot better, and since the last time I wrote I have had my feeding tube removed and have spoken to many of you over the phone. Its so great to here some of the old voices again, my voice is very rasppy and probably will be for a very long time. It wasn't like I sang with The Jonas Brother's :) I will be starting back to work next week I'm looking forword to getting back in the saddle.

I hope to slide down the chimmney to Ma. on Chrismas but thats a big if right now. The family is doing well and the kids are busy with sports or the arts. So everyone have a Happy Holloween and I will post again soon.

Starting to feel much better!

Hi everyone, Im happy to say that Im feeling much better. My hair has grown back. My throat is quite sore but I am able to eat quite a bit considering my mouth isn't producing saliva, but with the help of alot of water I am able to make it happen. I hope to start work sometime next month, and my feeding tube should be removed soon, as I barely use it now. Thanks for all the prayers they are working. I Hope to be able to start enjoying some of this great weather as winter is aproaching us in Sunny FL and that is prime weather 70's and 80's I love it. I spent the whole summer inside and was unable to enjoy my first year here in FL. I hope you are all doing well. Again I want to thank all of my family and friends, old and new for your well wishes. I hope to see everyone sometime soon.

Summers Winding Down

I can hardly believe It's already the end of of summer; In some sense it seems like a blur. The kids have returned back to school down here; as for me, I am slowly recovering from the radiation treatments and am able to eat Jello and some other soft foods. I can't wait to fully get the function back in my throat and mouth and begin eating like my old self again, then they can remove my feeding tube. I still have numbness in my feet, but I am hopeful that it will subside after awhile.

I will be going for a Cat Scan on Fri I hope It will give me some insight on my condition at least until I get another Pet Scan In Oct. Well I will be in touch soon. All there is for me now is to get better so I will talk again real soon, thanks again for all your prayers and blog entries. stay safe love Pete.

I'am still here.

Hello, yes I'm still here I have just been experiencing a lot of discomfort with the symptoms of the treatments that I have received over the final weeks of my treatment. It left me with an incredibly sore throat, numbness in my feet, and a painful high pitched tone in my ears.

Even with all of that said I am feeling improvements in my energy level. I will be going into the hospital on the 30th of this month for my pet scan. That's the test that tells me weather I have any traces of cancer in my system or not, and if it comes back positive I will have to go back for surgery. All in all recuperation has been slow going.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Thanks for all of the continued prayers.

Pete

Sat the 17th and resting up for Mon.

Hey y'all! It's Saturday night and I'm home resting after my first week of Radiation. as I said my feeding tube is in place and a visiting nurse is supposed to come by the house to show me how to use it, and drop off all of my delicious supplies! (Yum!) I thought I would spear you guys the photo's of my tube at least until my gut recedes or by popular demand, which ever comes first. I'm starting to be a little less fidgety in the Hanabol Lector outfit, although the ringing in my ears right now is a little nerve racking. Sandy's working on a photo collage as well as trying to put together the link between the Blog and the Photo Bucket so that people can see the photo's from the fundraiser. My sister Venus is down and staying with us for a little while and helping us out. The kids seem to be doing fine and the weather here is in the nineties this week.(Wooo!!) One more thing, Im still working on the slide show; so don't fret if you don't see yourself, we are woking on getting all the pics in. Well I'm going to rest up I will talk to you all soon, Love Pete.

May 4th was Quatro de Peto

My family and I are back home, and Wow! what a time we had on Sunday! I don't know if I have the powers, nor the authority to proclaim the day as such, but what the heck I'll take it anyways or until someone complains. It was fantastic to see all of you from the past to the present. I also want to thank you all for not allowing me to sit down in the six plus hours of the celebration, because it aloud me to make the best of the time I had with you all. Sandy also wants to thank you for letting me stand, as my legs swelled up like elephantitus. lol

I gotta tell ya that I came away from this Sunday so empowered to battle this Cancer. So many of you came out and showed your support, love and success stories of your own personal triumphs with the disease. Today is Tuesday and I went to the radiologist for a block check, thats a dry run of what I will be going through for the next 7 plus weeks of radiation treatment. I will be having surgery this Thursday, for my feeding tube. Then I will be admitted on Monday the 12th for 3 days of Chemo.

I look forward to all of the photos that Moose took and plan to share many of them with you on this blog, as soon as I get them.

Thank you all for what was one of the most memorable days of my life. Take care and God Bless.
